How do we sign up?
Complete the registration form, and you will be sent full details including our terms and conditions and what you will need to do to get the system operational in your club. We will support you every step of the way.
How much does it cost?
The set-up fee for golf clubs is £75 payable upon registration. The annual fee thereafter is £50 payable on June 1st. We will provide access to your check-in database, and a unique QR code for display around your premises. We can supply professionally printed posters, check-in signs, pro shop QR scan units and first tee scan units if required at cost or you are free to use your own suppliers. Digital marketing materials will also be provided to encourage golfer downloads from your websites and your tee time booking confirmation emails and which can be forwarded to all players in the booking.
Can we use this for member check-in?
Yes. The system can identify whether a person is a member of your golf club and delivers a member welcome message. We would encourage all golf clubs to register their members as even though they may not use the system for their own check-in, members will be visitors to other clubs in the future and will be required to check-in. The cost to golfers is a £1.99 fee payable within the app. They need only download the app one-time. A golf club can purchase free downloads for its members at a bulk rate.
Are golfers who download the app insured to play?
Not at this stage. This is a record of arrival and check-in. Affiliated Golf Club members in England are covered by England Golf insurance through their affiliation fees. Discussions are progressing with insurers around visitor insurance for public liability and accident which will be offered to all non-member golfers upon downloading the app.
Who can use the data collected?
When checking-in at a golf club, non-members will be invited to register with the golf club for marketing purposes via a tick box consent. This information will be included within the data record of the visit. For those golfers who opt-in for marketing communication from individual golf clubs, the golf clubs become the data controller of that data. The system is fully GDPR compliant.
All other data can be used to understand playing activity, frequency and catchment areas of visiting golfers.
We understand the value of remote check-in using geolocation during the social distancing rules. However, what if we require golfers to subsequently check-in at our registration area.
There are two check-in systems within the app – QR code and geolocation. Those clubs wishing to physically welcome all customers can provide a check-in scan within the pro shop encouraging check-in but making it safe and speedy for all parties.
During social distancing, we would encourage all golf clubs to register visitors via geolocation so limiting physical contact and entry to check-in areas. This can be switched to scan check-in in the future.
